Cox to eliminate traditional copper phone and replace with VOIP.. BAD NEWS
As a longstanding COX customer, I don't want VOIP phone service as it has limitations when real emergencies happen (e.g., power outage, earthquake, etc.) Traditional copper phone lines work without electricity, with VOIP no power, no phone. This is really disappointing to me. I have copper for a reason and I don't need special modems to use the telephone, which has been around for over 100 years. Hope COX doesn't force this on me. My phone isn't broke, so there is no need to change it.DJV7 years agoNew Contributor II42KViews0likes56CommentsNomorobo Still Not Working
My nomorobo is still not working. Nomorobo has worked on it. They say everything is set up correctly. They told me to call Cox to reset the simultaneous ring because that seemed to be the issue. I did that. Cox says they reset it. It is still not working. Not a single call has been blocked this month. What do i do now?Lily27 years agoContributor40KViews0likes7CommentsNomorobo now available in only a few select Cox markets
Nomorobo now lists Cox as a carrier for their service. However, I subsequently signed up for Nomorobo only to find out that simultaneous ring is only available in a few select Cox markets. Any idea when simultaneous ring will be available in the Hampton Roads, VA market? Thanks.Rob_H_7 years agoContributor II35KViews0likes26CommentsNomorobo set up and verified. No calls blocked
Please help. My Nomorobo is set up and verified by Nomorobo. Everything is in order. They have called to day it is enabled. But it is NOT working. Cox refuses all responsibility/. I have to contact Nomorobo. I have done that 3 times. They say they will get back to me. They havent. Everything is done correctly and that is verified by both Cox and Nomorobo. I am getting all my calls....10 just today. I am at my wit’s end. Please help.SolvedLily27 years agoContributor32KViews0likes43CommentsMy onscreen caller ID is not working (again) (still).
This past weekend I did a chat with "Annie P", and she went through the canned list & rebooted the cable box and satellites, even though I had already done it and told her so. Then she said she would elevate the issue and someone would call me "within 5 minutes"--which I didn't believe, but was hopeful. Well, no one called, and here is is several days later and still no call, and no onscreen caller ID. This problem happened a year ago, and once before that also. What is the issue? Can it be fixed?OldJedi7 years agoNew Contributor III26KViews0likes2CommentsCall history in phone tools
My call history in phone tools hasn't worked for about a month now and I'm given all different responses from Cox reps from they've opened a ticket & are escalating the problem & are working on it to it can't be fixed since I'm on the legacy platform & they're changing everything to the voice platform. What is the true story here? I've read on different forums here that this is not a new problem. Why weren't we notified of the change in advance and why can't call history be kept working until they make the change? I'd like one honest answer here rather than being told a bunch of different stories.......I just want my call history fixed. I'm in the RI area.Pam6136 years agoContributor II24KViews0likes38CommentsNew phone modem doesn't work.
Last week, we bought a new phone modem - Arris TM 3402A. This week I tried to connect a phone to it. No anything. No dial tone. No light on the front of the modem. The phone I used to connect to the modem works when connected to a land line jack.Frank_19377 years agoNew Contributor23KViews0likes12CommentsDPQ3212 DIGITAL PHONE SERVICE AND PANASONIC TA624
THIS POST WOULD PROBABLY APPLY TO ANYONE HAVING A PHONE SYSTEM IN THEIR HOME. MINE IS A PANASONIC KX TA624 WHICH HAS WORKED FINE FOR 10 YEAR. COX GIVES ME THREE INCOMING PHONE NUMBERS (TRUNK LINES) AND THE PHONE SYSTEM (SWITCH) SERVES IT OUT TO 16 PHONE STATIONS IN DIFFERENT ROOMS AND LOCATIONS. EACH PHONE SHOWS ALL THREE LINES SO YOU CAN PICKUP IN ANY ROOM, AND THE PHONES HAVE CONFERENCE CALLING, INTERCOM INCLUDING FRONT AND REAR DOOR, AND MANY OTHER FEATURES. NOW I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT I MUST INSTALL THE DPQ3212 FOR MY PHONE SERVICE - I WILL NEED TWO UNITS BECAUSE THEY ONLY HANDLE 2 LINES PER MODEM - AND I MAY GET CUTOFF ANY DAY NOW BASED ON MY LOCATION. NOBODY AT COX CAN TELL ME (SO FAR) IF THE OUTPUTS LINES OF THE DPQ3212 ARE COMPATIBLE WITH MY PANASONIC INPUTS SO THAT WE CAN JUST PLUG THEM IN OR WHETHER MY WHOLE SYSTEM GOES DOWN WITH NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT. THE TECHNICIAN WHO CAME OUT THE FIRST TIME TO INSTALL THE MODEM STOPPED THE INSTALL AND SAID IT WOULDN'T WORK WITH MY PANASONIC. I TALKED TO RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS LEFT WITH THE IMPRESSION THAT THEIR SOLUTION WAS TOSS MY PANASONIC AND CONNECT UP A COUPLE OF PHONES IN A ROOM OF MY CHOICE - ONE PHONE FOR EACH OF THREE INCOMING LINES AND BE SURE TO REMAIN IN THE ROOM THAT I WANT TO USE TO ANSWER THE PHONE. JUNK MY PANASONIC AND 16 STATIONS I'M CURRENTLY USING AND GIVE UP ALL OF THE FEATURES WE USE. I SPOKE TO COX BUSINESS AND THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION FOR ME TO GET THE SAME FEATURES USING THE RESIDENTIAL NETWORK. THEY HAVE OTHER NETWORKS AVAILABLE ON BUSINESS LOCATIONS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE ON RESIDENTIAL. 1. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHETHER IT'S TRUE THAT THE DPQ3212 AND THE PANASONIC WILL NOT PLAY NICE TOGETHER? 2. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM HOW MUCH TIME I HAVE LEFT BEFORE MY WHOLE SERVICE SHUTS DOWN? 3. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST WHAT TO DO IF #1 ABOVE DOESN'T WORK?Michael20627 years agoNew Contributor II23KViews0likes4Comments
