What tech support does Cox provide for a Panoramic router? If any...or at most...Cox will allow a subscriber to swap the Pano, but Cox can't access the router to review your settings, troubleshoot and make changes. Even though you rent a Pano, you have to troubleshoot your network.
The age of a device is irrelevant. As long as a device supports at least 802.11a or 802.11b, a router will connect it. It's the networking protocol to consider...not age of a device. The only problems I've read about "old equipment" is with Panoramic, and I think it may have to do with channel width, encryption or something. I don't know. I don't rent one.
