Cox.net Email ported to yahoo - email address permanent?

We are considering leaving Cox for all services.  We ported our email as required to Yahoo successfully earlier this year.  Even though our email is "@cox.net", we assume Yahoo will continue to support that email address even without Cox internet, but would like confirmation before we drop our other Cox services.  Thanks for your help.
