Email notifications
I'm just curious if email notifications are now working again? Please comment so we can check this. Guess what it is working again 👍
I've never ever recieved a notification on anything I post here, I have double checked all the notification settings and they never work.
Hello Flinx,
I know that notifications were an issue with the old Forum format. It should be working now. I am able to receive notifications through my email and at the forums. I would recommend checking the settings here https://forums.cox.com/mysettings/followsAndNotifications, but also check that you have the right email set up for forum notifications.
What is the specific setting to turn on forum notifications (bell icon in upper right) for threads in which I've participated? I'm not referring to email notifications. I don't want those in my Inbox.
I found the Follow/Unfollow icon in the upper right to the left of the gear icon. Apparently, the default is no notification unless that icon is clicked for each indvidual thread to "Follow". Is that correct?
Hello CurtB,
Under that same section, you can turn off Email Notifications and set up Advanced Settings to receive notifications on discussions that you are following. Depending on how you set it up, you will receive a notification when someone replies to you, likes your comment, marks your comment as the solution, etc. I hope that helps.
But for forum notifications to be received, the "Follow" icon must be clicked for each individual thread in which notifications are wanted. Is that correct?
Is there any chance this setting could be set to "Follow" the first time a forum user contributes to the thread? That would be consistent with the previous version. It should only be set the first time because a user might choose "Unfollow" and wouldn't want the setting changed back to "Follow" every time they publish a reply.
When I change anything in Settings, I get a weird, unformatted "unsaved" error that fills the screen when I try leave the Settings page. I don't see a "Save" button. The only solution I've found is to close the forum browser tab. After reloading the website, I can check settings and see that my changes were saved.
