I have a straight cable from outside the home going to the wall jack at my modem. From there is a cable straight to my modem. There is one barrel connector in the attic and the barrel connector at the wall jack. The last tech that came out read ~7db drop from the cable connected to my modem to the point where my wiring connects to the drop that runs under the street. He saw no noise or interference of any kind.

Thanks for letting m know. Because you are getting so many timeouts I would definitely recommend getting another technician out. I know this step may add frustration, and may even seem redundant, but please know that we want to get this issue resolved as promptly as possible.     I went through the Live Chat and have an appointment for tomorrow evening. The last tech that "escalated" the issue seemed it would go somewhere but after 2 emails they stopped responding.

      Tech came, said it was an issue where he needed to install a splitter to reduce the power levels, and after doing so and testing, found that did not fix it. He tired a 3-way and a 2-way and neither produced solid results. He then checked the end of the cable plugging into the modem and said it was burnt and that the mesh steel in the cable was not all pulled back before the fitting was installed causing an issue. He put on a new fitting and said it was all good. 
      Not hours after he left and continuing since then, I have the same exact issues I have had the whole time.
