Synology NAS Compatibility

My new Panoramic Gateway does not seem to recognize my Synology DS216J NAS.  It is not showing up in Windows File Exploer as a network device, and I cannot access it through the directory hierarchy at \\SynologyDS216J.  Any suggestions?
