Paramount Plus on Contour
I am unable to watch Paramount+ shows on my Contour host box (brand new today).On the host box, when I select the episode and choose to go to Paramount+ (watch options), I get an ad, then a spinny circle in the upper left, and that's it. Spinny circle forever or eventually an error code. I am able to watch Paramount+ shows on the client box. It shows an ad and then the show starts up fine. Several times an evening and random times I lose audio watching live tv, movies, or recorded shows. Picture is fine. Can restore audio by going backward & the playing live or recorded shows. Only happens on new Contour box, not two other mini boxes. Reset box repeatedly, problem recurred Cox techs swapped out box, same problem. Sound loss occurs on all 3 sound outputs from Contour box, so problem is in the Contour box. Second Cox tech changed out cable from pole to house, & house to Contour box. Same problems occurred. "Escalated" tech could not solve, said maybe software problem wContour box. "Tech stated possible firm ware issue but the engineers are still working on it " basically answer we have no clue so please pay your high cost for inadequate quality system.Problem is very irritating. When paired with both my TV and stereo, the power all button doesn't do anything. When paired with TV only it DOES work. When paired with TV and stereo, TV power button only controls the stereo. Stereo is connected only to TV via the optical cable, not to the contour box. Tried multiple codes for TV and stereo. None work for power but do control sound level. Contour box does control channel change. TV is Sharp Aquos. Stereo is Panasonic DVD/Surround sound Stereo. Both are at least 15 years old.Solved3.3KViews0likes15CommentsHubs for Contour
I’m a quadriplegic and need to use voice recognition completely. I cannot get my contour box to communicate with my fire cube. Is there a hub (like the old harmony hub) that can send the IR signals to the Arris box. I’ve tried different IR blasters with a new Amazon Fire TV Omni. I’ve tried adding a fire tv cube to the tv. I currently have a Contour 1 DVR with 6 tuners. My second identical DVR recently broke and I found out during an attemptedswap out at the local Cox Store that Cox no longer allows two DVR's on the same network. I ended up with a client box instead that is fed from my remaining DVR. So I am used to having 12 tuners available for recording. I see the Cox Ultimate DVR with 24 tuners on the Cox web site, but no real information on how it works or is configured. 1. Can it store recordings locally or is everything stored in the Cloud? 2. Does it require Panoramic Internet from Cox? 3. What is the true cost, (the web site shows a $10 bump from $20 to $30 a month when going from 6 to 24 tuners) Any hidden costs I should expect? 4. With most channels, daily my television screen will freeze during scheduled TV shows/movies/live tv and won't fix itself. The screen and sound are like stuck. To fix temporarily, I will unplug the contour box. It will fix it for a few hours at the most and then it will freeze again. It doesn't matter what channel I'm on. This only began a few days ago. Now, a show will start for a few seconds and then I get the spinning circle and then I get this error: "HDMI Connection: There's a problem with the connection to your TV. Try using a different HDMI cable. For more help, go to amazon.com/videohelp." Regular live programming and other apps all work fine, so I highly doubt that there's any issue with the connection between the Contour box and the TV and even if there were, I also doubt the Prime Video app has that level of hardware access to the Contour box to detect it. I have tried both restarting and refreshing the Contour box, but neither made a difference. On client boxes I can seethe scheduled recordings, record a show that will record and is watchable on the host but none of the clients display any recordings. What would be the reason causingthe clients nottoshow any recording but allows them to schedule and record shows that do show up on the main DVR? One of my clients needs to be exchanged due to it failing to download the software image which was done when atech hhasdisconnected my cable and phone line due to ingress without any notification or notes left in my account so customer service knew. That was all resolved but this mysterious issue happened after replacing a line from the wall to a client box that was the cause of the ingress. I can’t see the absence of omeclient causing this. I looked at the hook up in the house that was modified and the one odd thing I see is the cable line-in to the house is split with one side going to an amp that goes to another amp which is connected toeach room. The other side of the split from the main line in goes directly to the DVR. The tech is off for the next couple days and I don’t want to bother him and have already called customer service and they were just going to send someone else out in another week so I’ll plan to contact the tech that fixed it but I was hoping to perhaps get some feedback here while I wait. It’s odd that the clients are obviously talking to the host dvr to list the scheduled recordings and start recording from client boxes that show on the host, but the clients no longer show any recordings like they used too thank you for your time and advice in advance.
