Homelife connection problem
I will try to keep this simple. since having homelife installed my main router loses connection until reset 1 to 3 times per day. In the past 15 years i have had amazing service. my setup Asus rt-ac87 main wifi with smaller wifi piggy back off that for guests. Off the main Asus router is the new homelife equipment, router and box to record 24/7. when the connection dies, the center homelife light goes yellow and any connections to the main wifi router are killed. But... The wired connections including my pc snd the extra wifi router pass through and continue to function!! sounds crazy but takes a reboot to resume security functions and wifi capability of the main router once again. Never resets and happens without fail at LEAST once per day. Today was down from 10 am until i came home and reset it at 1:30 ish. cant really watch my home from work reliably with this happening. My connection snd speeds are great, in fact the main trunk is in my driveway to the entire block. Any help would be appreciated! It took me nearly a dozen attempts, over the course of 2 days, to get my Cox Homelife hub to reconnect after changing my network name. I had finally gotten around to giving my networks a personalized name and password, and having done that (and testing that everything was working) I went into the Homelife app on my phone and it walked me through getting reconnected. I followed the directions through changing the network on my phone so I was connected to the hub, then telling the hub the network name and password. I know I had the network name and password correct because I had just gone through the process on all of my devices and was looking at the info in the admin console of the router. The hub failed to connect over and over and over, until I just gave up. The next day I tried again. And again. And again. Then suddenly it worked. Ihad gone through the same process, entering the same information, every time, so I have no idea why it failed so many times, and the app doesn't really give good feedback as to why it failed. For anyone else having this problem: just keep trying and hopefully you'll get lucky and it will work. Hi - I am unable to view live video when using the app or the web portal. I know my camera is connected fine, because I see updated still photos and can take video and additional stills. But, when trying to view live video, it does not work. On the iOS app, it just says "Contacting Camera." The camera is connected through wifi. In the good ole days when we could control the thermostats on the web vs. just using the mobile app, we could create a schedule for one day and copy that schedule to other days. I can't find a way to do that on the mobile app. Is it possible to do that? If not, why not? Can we get that feature back? (and can we get the web-based control back too, while you're at it?) Homelife Camera life feed causes error on Galaxy J& Polaris10 months ago Recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy J7 android phone (Verizon). Downloaded Cox Homelife app. I can sign in OK and see the camera still feed, but when I tap the scene to get the live feed I get "kicked out" of the application - - and it closes. I can do all other functions with homelife including viewing the camera still pictures that are refreshed every 10 seconds, or so. My android system is 7.1.1., I believe. Can anybody help? Cox is without a doubt the worst company I am forced to deal with. I can not believe they removed the clock and weather apps from their outdated and clunky alarm panel. All over a 6 cents increase in royalties per customer. They could careless about their customers. It is complete and total **!!!!! Their support states it is an upgrade.
