Cox On Demand is down for all Tivo Users Nation wide
My self and many others on Tivo Community Dot come are reporting everyone is getting V205 errors when accessing Cox on Demand. This is happening at ALL Cox Systems Nation Wide. It is like the On Demand Servers are down. This has been going on for a week now. It is not possible watch Cox on Demand. Could someone at Cox please check the Cox ON Demand servers for Tivo, they are a separate feed. Also please work with Tivo to get this fixed. Hitting Watch now several times does not work, that used to be the work around, almost like the server connection was slow or not in queue yet or was powering one. Now nothing works. Us Tivo users do Pay for the Advanced TV package to get the On Demand Service (it is advertised on the Office Cox Tivo Bolt Web Page and in the Advanced TV service package) More Info/BackGround 1. We have the Cox On Demand App or Landing as Cox likes to call it. 2. We all have the proper flags set on our cable cards, this is confirmed, plus if we did not the App would not show on our menus. 3. It looks like it trying to load the video but then it gives the error. This happens on all Movies and TV shows. 4. On Demand is advertised on the Office Cox web site, here is the URL, yet it has been down or broken a lot since its release, almost like no one cares about the Thousands of Cox Tivo customers. My contour cable box is constantly freezing but only does so when I have the channel guide open or when I am browsing through On-Demand shows or movies. Additionally, if I have a show or movie playing, that show or movie will suddenly "crash"...it will freeze, the screen will go blank, and then the regular TV will come back on. Is there any fix for this that can be done from home without a technician? Do I need to purchase a different box? My DVR dies last week, and you can not transfer shows to the new DVR (even though chat HELP will tell you differently which is a whole separate issue) So to catch up on the 70% full hard drive I lost, I have to watch my shows On Demand. Except not all shows have all episodes On Demand. For example Jane the Virgin - only has the last few episodes (but whole seasons before) Lethal Weapon has 1- 9 and 14-18 The list goes on and on. I find it sad, annoying etc etc that our ON Demand never works properly. There are several issues with this service. Either it hangs up getting stuck for all eternity causing us to have to unplug the box, jump up and down while hoolahooping holding a small poodle, all while on one leg. OR It give us the following message "You show can not be accessed at this time, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact coustomer service." Blah blah blah... I did the whole walk through trouble shoot with the CSR. I asked first if there was an outage in the area. I was told "NO" Cool right? Wrong... After the trouble shoot, un plug the box, yada yada blech. Nothing... same message same ole song and dance. The the tech sent a "signal" to the box. Again did not work. Then he reset the box on their side. Still not working. At this point I was told that "if (I) wait a few hours it should be fine." I should not have to go through this, none of us should. COX is hands down the worst service on the East Coast. The prices keep going up up up but, the service goes down down down. I would never recomend COX to anyone. DVR a show and the CC won't work half the time. On Demand does not work half the time. You don't even have all the basic stations on demand. I'm sorry but wow... there are a million things you need to do to even hope to remain in business. I for one will move asap and make sure the next community has a contract with either verizon or comcast. SO over givingCOXmy $ just to be annoyed. And so help me God don't say " we can have a technition come out to take a look" I am not paying even more $ to have someone come in and "Look" this should never have happened in the first place. I joined the Cox family on Saturday under the silver package and love how fast the internet is. Why did Shameless disappear from Showtime On Demand? It was my understanding that all seasons for the Showtime series would be available via the Showtime On Demand expansion promoted earlier this year (http://ww2.cox.com/myconnection/hamptonroads/watch/entertainment/on-demand-showtime-expansion.cox).
