It come out of nowhere. Aggravating! I want the volume to stay put. Always. Cox universal remote won't control volume I have a Scientific Atlantic Explorer 4240HDC cable box and a URC-8820-Cisco remote with cox service. My TV is a Hisense LED LCD TV (Model Number 40K20D). Everything is working fine, and the remote controls everything perfectly, except for the volume. Using the Volume Control Lock method I am able to "control" the volume in cable mode, but it doesn't actually change the volume, just shows more or less bars. I am still able to change the volume with the remote that came with the tv, so this isn't something that's completely inconvinient but I'd like to figure it out! Volume during Commercials During commercials, the volume is either silent or regular volume. I have the volume set at 40.....it's plenty loud yet it goes almost silent during commercials. Not sure if this is a problem with Cox communications or if this is dependent upon the type of TV I have (in this case it's a HD Magnavox flat screen).
