IR Extender with Contour 9852HDC Box?
Anyone know of a remote extender (and where I can get it) that works with the Contour Main Unit's IR port? We just got Contour and I have a long-used Smarthome cabinet IR extender system for all the components in our cabinet, but the Contour unit even with an IR Blaster stuck on the front panel where I believe the IR receiver is - has absolutely horrible response - so bad that it isn't really usable. Also is there a manual for that unit online? I did not get one from the tech. Or if someone could confirm where the IR sensor is in case that would be great (looks like there are 2 "eyes" in the smoky panel to the right of the display? I've tried both and can get a response from the box while behind the cabinet but as above - highly inconsistent). Than you in advance..40KViews0likes1CommentCox Contour 3.1.2.0 Error Message
Our new Contour system keeps sending "Sorry, there is currently no TV signal detected for this channel..." message for random channels. Please note that our CLIENT box has no problem accessing these "No signal" channels when the message appears on the MAIN DVR box. A reboot sometimes helps, but not always. This Whole Home DVR system was installed a month ago. The full message appears below. Why is this happening? "Sorry, there is currently no TV signal detected for this channel. The channel may be temporarily off air. Please try again later. If the problem continues, please contact Cox Customer Service at (866) 961-1207. Reference 3.1.2.0 when calling. Alternatively, you can press the GUIDE button on your remote control to watch programs on other channels."21KViews0likes5CommentsUsing a Samsung remote to control a CISCO 4642HDC cable box--is this possible?
I'd like to use my Samsung TV remote control to control my Cox-provided CISCO cable box. BUt I can't locate the standard 3-digit universal remote code for CISCO, if there is one. In the Cox-provided universal remote instructions, it says to use a special procedure (SWAP-A buttons) to program the CISCO box. Does this mean it's impossible to control the box with my Samsung remote? (I have called support lines at Cox and Samsung so far, and the CISCO site just points back to "your cable provider" (i.e., Cox) for support, so . . . No one seemed familliar with the issue.) Thanks, Martin Smith10KViews0likes11CommentsChanging cable box
I recently had cox cable installed, I was ready surprised when I saw thecable boxes they installed. They were the ugliest boxes I have ever seen but I honestly could get past the ugly and very old look of the boxes. The problem is that they reboot all the time, some channels never work and channels I don't have appear on my channel list making it confusing to find out which channels I can look at. I have the Scientific Atlanta CSH824H. I've seen that many people have issues with these boxes, I was just wondering if cox does not have any other more updated box? When I log into my account above the model of my cable box appears another box image which is apparently the Cisco 8742HDC. Can Cox provide that box? It appears that most forum's on this subject are locked? I have the same question, and can not find the answer. I have a Cox Mini box and a Tivo Series 2. I have hooked it up to the Tivo. I can live with the single channel record watch, but I can not get the Mini Box to slave to the Tivo. I am using a direct IR to the port on the back of the Mini Box.. I am using the Bleiden "Tivo IR to Cable/DTA Box Direct Connect Control Cable". This system reportedly works with the Evolution DTA that Comcast uses. 1) I understand that Cox has some Evolution Mini DTA's. Can I trade mine in for one of these? (The are controllable through the direct cable, no IR emitter or "blast" required. 2) Has anyone had any luck getting a Series 2 to work with the Cox Mini? If so, how? (There is no cable card slot in this Series.) 3) What can Cox do to help those of us who own our own DVR's that are caught up in this switch to digital, but were happy with what they used to have, prior to 5/17/16? Thank you in advance for any help Cox, or anyone else who has had success with the Cox Mini can post.8.1KViews0likes11CommentsWatch DVR recorded Shows in every room
I previously had DVR with other service providers in the past and I am used to being able to watch a dvr recorded show in any room of the house by recording it on the main box. Is this not the case with COX DVR? If I press the DVR List button on the remote in any other room I get an error. Shouldn't I be able to view these recordings in any room but only able to record from the main box or something like that? Thanks for your help in advance!7.4KViews0likes5CommentsBig Button Remote for minibox
Any action on this issue yet, Cox?! I have purchased TWO 'universal' big button remotes. They contain codes for Cisco, Cox and Cox Digital. NONE operate the minibox. There are a lot of elderly basic cable customers out there like my mother that this a HUGE issue for. Also, It would be nice if there was someway to ignore the hundreds of unsubscribed channels, so that looping was possible while channel surfing. MAJOR fail if there is no solution to this one.6.6KViews1like5Commentslow volume
On Sat., July 21, my Cisco Whole Home DVR was reset remotely by a Cox technician to fix a problem with stations being on the wrong channels. After that reset, the volume on my TV is about half of what it was before the reset. Please help me for the fix for this. Thanks!6.2KViews0likes5CommentsWireless router antenna pattern (DPQ3925)
I have the Cisco DPQ3925 router/gateway and noticed that the wireless coverage in my townhouse varies considerably. Does anyone have an idea how the built-in antennae are oriented and what the shape of the covered space is? It seems that the signal at the top is much stronger that at the bottom. Could anyone confirm? Thanks.Solved5.6KViews0likes5Comments
