Emails Appear on Webmail but Not on Outlook
I've had a Cox Email for the past 15 or so years. I opened up Outlook 2016on my home PC and found that all my emails were gone. Nothing in inbox, sent items, drafts, etc. I checked my laptop which had my email opened up from yesterday, and when I went to do a send/receive, all my emails were just removed. What's even weirder is that all my emails show up fine in Cox Webmail. It's an IMAP/SMTP account, and I don't know what to do to get my emails back onto Outlook. Any help to figure this out would be appreciated.3.6KViews0likes5CommentsI fixed my Outlook email problem after Cox "maintenance"
Hi all, Like all (?) Outlook users, I lost the ability to receive mail a week ago (I could still send). I use Windows 10 Pro, version 1903 (OS build 18362.746). I am using Outlook Version 1911 (build 12228.20332). I fixed my connection issue by disabling the use of TLS 1.0 by Windows 10.I suspect the "maintenance" was to require TLS 1.2 connections. Our Outlook clients are trying to connect using TLS 1.0 and get rejected. Here's how I did it. The first step may not be required -- I think it was the second step that was definitive. NOTE: These directions are essentially the same as those here:https://windowsreport.com/how-to-disable-tls-1-0/ 1. Disable TLS 1.0 in Internet Settings Press Windows Key + S [This will bring up Search] Type "internet options" into search bar The Internet Properties window pops up Select the "Advanced" tab Scroll down to the bottom, the "Security" section. Uncheck "Use TLS 1.0" Note: I also unchecked TLS 1.1, and I checked Use TLS 1.3 (experimental). You may not need to do that. 2. Edit the Registry to Disable TLS 1.0 Press Windows Key + R [this brings up the "Run" window] type "regedit" in Run to run the registry editor Then, in the left-hand tree view, open up this key path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols I couldn't see TLS 1.0 and Client subkeys went I arrived at the end of the above key path, so I had to create them. To create them: right-click on Protocols and select New > Key then enter "TLS 1.0" as the key title Next, right click on the TLS 1.0 key you just created, and select New > Key again. Enter "Client" as the title. Then, select the Client key, and in in the empty-space to the right of it, right-click and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value Enter "Enabled" as the new DWORD's title The default value for this new Enabled DWORD is 0 (zero), which disables TLS 1.0. Finally, restart Windows (reboot). My Outlook IMAP Settings for Cox The above procedure should have restored your prior configuration to a working state. If it's not, here are is my working Outlook configuration. Recall that I am using Windows 10, with OutlookVersion 1911 (build 12228.20332) as part of Office 365. Note that I use IMAP and not POP. It Outlook, select the File menu In the Account Information screen, press the "Account Settings" button, then select "Server Settings" The IMAP Account Settings -- Incoming mail -- window appears: Now press the "Outgoing mail" link in this window. Now the IMAP settings for outgoing mail appears: Good Luck & Merry Christmas!3.4KViews1like0CommentsNot able to send email via POP with Cox Accounts
Working on my Father in Laws PCs, he has Cox as do I He can't send via any of of cox.net accounts on his PCS hooked into his network. We spent 6 hours on with customer support finally sent to tier 22 who said they had to send to back office. Settings are correct as posted on website. Able to send other emails to gmail accounts in Outlook. Webmail, sends emails fine. He receives emails fine. He is not at quota on any email address. He can send via K-9 via sprint network (through their email server). When we send it goes to outbox then to sent. No error message ever shows up. I had my laptop there, I was able with the same version and my email address to send via my laptop though I was not on his network I was off my hotspot. His Desktop, Laptop and my Mother In Laws pc are all 3 having the same issue. I traced the message in Windows 10 and can see it connect to the pop server and negotiate but thats all i can see. it is almost as if his 3 accounts are being stopped at the server.2.4KViews0likes5CommentsOutlook no longer pulling my email
For about a month now, my Win 10 PC Outlook will not pull my cox email. I get it without issues on my Android smartphone and online. All IMAP settings are correct. Can you provide some guidance on how to resolve? The last discussion resolution involved a change made on Cox's end. I tried to chat online, but it was not a positive experience.2.2KViews0likes5CommentsOutlook no longer works with email. Cannot send any email. CS will try to troubleshoot for a fee...
Using Outlook 2016 No changes prior to issue on my setup Checked and rechecked all server settings Reset password Re-setup accounts Spoke to CS and was told they no longer support troubleshooting email clients (Outlook unless I want to pay $10.00) No explanation When trying to send an email it continually errors out. I have no other setting to fix/change on my end. Microsoft says its my ISP. Seeing quite a few threads on this lately. Any fixes that aren't the canned response from Cox?1.6KViews0likes7CommentsEmail

I have been unable to send or receive email on my primary email account using my email client (MS Outlook for Mac) for over a month. The problem is identical to this: forums.cox.com/.../20037.aspx Contact with Cox has proven fruitless. There is a stubborn email on my account which I cannot delete (It's spam, anyway). I have threatened to move to Verizon, and its about time I made good on that threat. This all has to do with "upgrades" in Cox service and migration to a new server, or something. This all should be transparent to the users, and it has caused nothing but problems. Whoever is in charge of this should be canned.779Views0likes1CommentUnable to send SMTP emails from Outlook when not connected to cox network.
Currently traveling and staying in a hotel for a few months. At the present time, I am unable to send email from my outlook client on two different computers or from my iPhone (wi-fi/cell). I can send email from webmail or if I save as a draft in outlook and send from webmail. If I connect to my home router's VPN, my Outlook will send. this means that my settings are correct. SMTP port: 587 STARTTLS Same authentication as incoming server (which is working. Is COX now blocking incoming traffic on port 587 by default as a "security" measure?722Views0likes2Comments
