Valorant ping is disapointingly high

Hello, I've been playing Valorant for 2+ years now. I live in the Northwest Arkansas area where the ping on Texas servers is usually 50-60+.  I have to connect to Illinois servers to get at least 30 ping on their servers, but even so it shouldn't be 50+ ping on Texas servers. My friends have AT&T for their wifi and they are able to get at least 15 - 20 ping on Texas servers easily. I'm not sure why that is, but its very frustrating only being able to play on Illinois since that is the only server that I can comfortably play on without lagging too much. I would like to know the reasoning and if there is a reasoning to why the ping to Texas servers is disappointingly high.
